The next eight games will sort things out
|
Eight very interesting games coming up. These are the games, that will tell us how good we are. I must admit, in my present mood, I can see a lot of points here. Mind you, I've been optimistic before and been proven wrong.
Stoke away. 1st Nov
Villa at home 8th Nov
Everton away 22nd. Nov
Newcastle at home 29th. Nov
West Brom away 2nd. Dec
Swansea at home 7th. Dec
Sunderland away 13th. Dec
Leicester at home 20th. Dec
We could be sitting pretty, before the Christmas - New year week, sees us take on Chelsea and Arsenal in two days. 26th. and 28th Dec.

Anything above 5 points in the next 3 games and we'll be top 6 at Christmas.

On current form, that's another 24 points right there (although more like 10-12 realistically), which would almost have us at the "magical" 40 points by Christmas.
I'm not sure how I would deal with that.

Lots of games there we should win there.
And this year we have been winning a lot of those.

Beat Stoke and Villa, and I'm a believer in a European adventure next season - West Ham of the past have frequently raised their game against the top sides, and then lost to lesser sides.
Teams that do well in league football don't do this

we will of course need to be able to play a slower and often more deliberate style against teams that attempt to close up shop against us

we need to vary our style against teams that do not attempt to attack us as Man city did

We need the team to stay fit and free from suspension. Then anything is possible.

Was looking at fixtures earlier and on current form it is easy to get excited about them
Then I have to bring myself back down to earth and remember this is West Ham... Just enjoy the ride

Well we will have a goal start in at least 4 of those courtesy of Sakho.

Yeah, I know it's West Ham, but it is easy to get excited, looking at those games. FFS, we've already won three on the trot and four out of five. When did we last do that?

Everton witt attack us relentlessly which theoretically will allow and encourage us to play as we did today.
Villa for instance appears a much bigger ask
